In Odesa and Izmail, law enforcement officers held meetings with prospective students to familiarize them with police work and the specifics of service within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During an Open House Day at a vocational college affiliated with a local university, experts from the forensic department of Odesa Regional Police Unit No. 1 conducted a career orientation event for high school students. They showcased how they operate at crime scenes, including a demonstration of forensic kits, tools for evidence collection, and fingerprinting sets, as well as photo and video recording equipment.
Participants observed the process of fingerprint collection and learned how traces are transferred to fingerprint film for further expert analysis.
Police officers emphasized that the accuracy of collecting evidence is crucial for solving crimes.
“Thanks to modern forensic equipment, we can accurately document every detail at the scene, ensuring a fair investigation,” noted forensic expert Major Tetiana Skyrtenko from Odesa Regional Police.
In Izmail, officers from the personnel department met with students at a local academy, discussing career opportunities within the National Police and outlining the roles of criminal investigators, district officers, and other departments where individuals can find their calling.
“We invite motivated, honest, and energetic young people ready to face today's challenges to join the National Police of Ukraine,” emphasized Senior Inspector Tetiana Artemenko-Holod.
Such meetings are held regularly as they help young people better understand police work, appreciate the importance of the profession, and make informed career choices.
