From November 17 to 19, 2025, Uzhhorod hosted the Ukraine Championship for junior cadets under 17 years old in judo.

More than 500 young athletes born between 2009 and 2011 participated from 21 regions of Ukraine.

The Odesa region team included students from the Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 15 in Odesa.

Vladimir Sorvachov won a silver medal in the 73 kg weight category, while Yuri Pinchuk took bronze in the 66 kg category.

The athletes were trained by coach Gennady Yaremenko.

In the judo sections of the municipal children's and youth sports schools in Odesa, there are 143 young athletes training.
