Adaptive sports serve as a vital tool for veterans’ reintegration into civilian life and for their physical and psychological socialization.
In the Peresyp district of Odesa, the first pickleball training session was held for veterans and their spouses. The event also saw participation from representatives of the Veteran Affairs Department of the Odesa City Council.
Pickleball combines elements of tennis and badminton and is renowned for its inclusivity. This sport is accessible to individuals of all fitness levels.
The training was conducted by veteran Mykhailo Zimin, who initiated the inclusion of pickleball in rehabilitation activities.
“We continue to support initiatives aimed at developing veteran policies in close collaboration with the community and the veterans themselves,” emphasized the director of the Veteran Affairs Department, Volodymyr Yermakov.
