Remembering Captain Vladislav Ilchuk: A Hero's Farewell

In the Bolhrad region, the community bid farewell to Captain Vladislav Ilchuk, who lost his life in combat on February 22, 2025. The local council highlighted that he stood up to defend his country from the very first days of the invasion.

Today, March 2, the village of Tabaky honored the commander of the mechanized battalion, Vladislav Ilchuk. Prior to the war, he lived in Bakhmut with his family, but they were forced to relocate to Odesa after the Russians devastated their hometown.

"After fierce battles in Bakhmut, the officer's family had to leave their hometown and move to the Bolhrad community. They were trying to build a new life, hoping for peace and the return of their hero. However, the enemy shattered these hopes, leaving the family without a husband, son, and father."

"The body of the fallen defender was carried through a living corridor created by community members, honoring Vladislav's bravery. At the cemetery, where he was laid to rest alongside other fallen heroes, his widow was presented with the state flag of Ukraine as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance."
