Return of the Deceased: New Phase of Repatriation in Ukraine

Ukraine has concluded a new phase of repatriation - 1200 bodies returned

Today marked the continuation of repatriation efforts as per agreements made in Istanbul. 1200 bodies have been returned to Ukraine, which according to Russian sources belong to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel.

In the near future, law enforcement investigators together with experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs will conduct all necessary examinations and identifications of the repatriated bodies.

These repatriation efforts were made possible through the collaborative work of the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the United Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and other security and defense sector entities.

We express our gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.

Special thanks to the personnel of the Central Command of the Armed Forces and the United Support Center for their role in transporting the repatriated individuals to designated specialized facilities.
