Ukrainian naval forces have successfully destroyed eight anti-ship sea mines that had washed ashore in the Odesa region. The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on their Facebook page.
«Since the onset of the storm near the Odesa coast, military sailors discovered 8 drifting anti-ship mines that had been dislodged from their positions by the enemy,» the statement read.
The Navy units eliminated these threats, which helped mitigate risks for the local population and shipping activities.
Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk stated that Russia remains capable of conducting offensive operations in the Black Sea.
