Recognition of the Vietnamese Community's Contribution in Odessa

The Mayor of Odessa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, awarded the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Vietnam to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thach, for his contributions to the development of the city.

During the ongoing full-scale war, the Vietnamese community has been actively supporting social projects in Odessa, including aid to the Odessa Zoo.

Specifically, at the initiative of the Ambassador and with the support of the Vietnamese diaspora, a new enclosure for green peacocks has been constructed at the zoo.

"Many Vietnamese have found a home and prosperity in Odessa. When a city creates favorable conditions for its residents, it is only logical that residents take responsibility for the city's development," emphasized the Ambassador.

During the celebrations, the Vietnamese community showcased its national traditions and culture.

The Mayor thanked all participants of the event and the Vietnamese people, stressing the importance of caring for our smaller brothers, especially during wartime.

The city leader also noted that the restoration of the Odessa Zoo, which began before the invasion, will continue after our victory.
