New Approaches to Humanitarian Collaboration in Odesa

In Odesa, new effective mechanisms have been established for collaboration with international humanitarian organizations to swiftly address the consequences of enemy attacks. This was announced by acting mayor Oleksandr Filatov during a coordination meeting organized by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

The meeting included representatives from UN agencies and international non-governmental organizations operating in the Odesa region, advisor to the mayor on humanitarian issues Veronika Etnarovych, director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy Olena Kytaianska, and director of the Department of Health Levon Nikogosyan.

“Right now, municipal workers are engaged in addressing the aftermath of last night’s enemy attack in the Khadyzhbey district. Alongside them, employees of international humanitarian organizations and charitable foundations are assisting local authorities and particularly those affected by the attack. We highly value this crucial collaboration,” Oleksandr Filatov stated.

Oleksandr Filatov also presented the current needs and priorities for the city of Odesa for 2025.

Additionally, the parties discussed the issue of receiving aid from international partners in the upcoming year.
