The Deputy Mayor of Odesa, Pavlo Vugelman, held a working meeting with the head of the UN Women Office in Ukraine, Sabina Nicole Fraser.
Also present were the Director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy, Olena Kytainska, and the Mayor's advisor on gender equality, Liliya Leonidova.
The main topic of discussion was the implementation of gender policy at the local level.
The parties discussed the status of projects aimed at assisting victims of domestic and gender-based violence.
Meeting participants reviewed the city's efforts in combating violence, particularly the establishment of specialized support services, including day centers and mobile social-psychological assistance teams.
Moreover, the representatives of the UN Women Office conducted a monitoring of the rights of women and vulnerable population groups in Odesa.
Based on the report, the city will receive technical and methodological support in the fight against gender-based violence.
