Drone Attack on Izmail: A Night of Tension
Summary of the drone strike in the Izmail district, fortunately resulting in no casualties.
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, met with a group of Italian parliamentarians led by Deputy Speaker Giorgio Mule, who heads the Italian section of the Italy-Ukraine Interparliamentary Cooperation Group. The Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa, was also present at the meeting.
During the dialogue, it was highlighted that Italy is patronizing the restoration of Odesa, and the parliamentarians came to personally explore the city and its landmarks, assess the extent of the destruction, and identify specific restoration needs. This will enable them to better understand what resources and support are necessary for effective reconstruction and restoration.
The parties also discussed promising areas for attracting investments, particularly in culture. Italians firmly believe that history cannot be erased, regardless of its nature.
«History is evolving, and we must mature alongside it and embrace its various phases. In Italy, many operas were written during the fascist era, and buildings were constructed. But that does not mean they should not be visited or even demolished. Art belongs to the world!» - expressed Mr. Mule's shared sentiment.
The Italian deputies expressed solidarity with the mayor and the residents of Odesa regarding the preservation of heritage, which has made Odesa a UNESCO literary city.
