Odessa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov participated in an international forum focusing on security and intelligence issues held in Madrid.

From May 21 to 23, the 29th Parliamentary Forum on Intelligence and Security is taking place in the Senate of Spain, chaired by Robert Pittenger - a US Congressman and close ally of President Donald Trump.

This event is one of the largest international platforms for discussing global security challenges.

This year's meeting in Madrid gathered parliamentarians, mayors, politicians, and experts in defense, digital technologies, and energy from numerous countries.

Ukraine was represented at the forum by members of parliament and Odessa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov.

The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the geopolitical implications of implementing artificial intelligence and digital currencies, transnational crime, cybersecurity, human trafficking, energy stability, human rights, and freedom of conscience.

Among the forum speakers are Spanish Senator Francisco Javier Marquez, Senator Jose Antonio Monago Terrasa, member of the Spanish Congress Victor Gonzalez Coelho de Portugal, and representatives from the governments of the UK, France, Romania, Australia, India, Israel, as well as international organizations and research centers.

Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov engaged in discussions regarding municipal security challenges, particularly in the context of martial law.

Odessa is at the forefront of protecting infrastructure, humanitarian safety, and international cooperation, making participation in such forums crucial for strengthening ties with international partners.
