Foreign Ministry Statement on Middle East Destabilization

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized that Iran plays a detrimental role both in the Middle East and beyond, particularly in supporting Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

“In Ukraine, we are watching the situation in the Middle East with concern, especially after Israel's recent strikes on Iranian facilities.

Understanding the risks of further destabilization in the region, we note that escalating conflict may threaten international security and financial stability, particularly in the oil markets.

It is crucial to avoid new conflicts and protect civilian lives,” the statement from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reads.

The Ministry reminded that Iran continues to supply weapons to Russia, which are used against Ukrainian citizens.

The Foreign Ministry stated that Iran is a source of many issues in the region.

“We believe that restoring peace and stability in the Middle East will benefit not only this region but the entire international community. Security in Europe and the Middle East are closely linked. In this context, we call on the international community to take action to address contemporary threats and to contain aggressive regimes - Russia, Iran, and North Korea,” the statement concludes.

In light of the deteriorating situation, the Foreign Ministry advises Ukrainians to refrain from traveling to the countries in the region, including Israel, Iran, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria, until the situation stabilizes.

Citizens currently in these countries are advised to follow safety measures, stay informed about local authorities' announcements, and always carry identification documents.
