New Tram in Odesa: Accessibility for All
A new tram equipped with a lift for persons with disabilities has been launched in Odesa, ensuring comfortable rides.
The Director General of the Middle East and Europe Department at JICA, Tōyama Kei, met with Andrii Rozov, the Director of Economic Development of the Odesa City Council, at JICA's headquarters.
«JICA is the primary international partner for Odesa. The collaboration with Japan, especially in waste management, water treatment facilities, and educational programs, is crucial for Odesa's residents during these challenging times», emphasized Andrii Rozov.
Mr. Tōyama expressed his respect and solidarity with the people of Odesa, who face aggression daily, and confirmed JICA’s ongoing support for the city. He also commended the strong and effective partnership between Odesa and Yokohama, two sister cities for 60 years.
Recently, schoolchildren in Odesa received 305 laptops from Yokohama and Nojima Corporation with support from JICA. Odesa's Mayor, Hennadii Trukhanov, in his video address, thanked the Japanese friends for their continuous support and gifts for the young residents of Odesa.
