Hennadiy Trukhanov, the Mayor of Odesa, held a significant meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China to Ukraine, Ma Shengkui, who visited the city for the first time since his appointment in November 2024.

During the meeting, the ambassador confirmed China's hope for Ukraine to achieve peace as soon as possible, emphasizing the principle of territorial integrity.

«We clearly communicate this position to all countries. China will persist in its efforts to end this tragedy,» stated Ambassador Ma.

He highlighted that China and Ukraine are strategic partners. The parties discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation, particularly in the context of post-war reconstruction.

Ambassador Ma emphasized Odesa's strategic role as a logistics and industrial hub and expressed readiness to support the development of industrial parks and infrastructure projects. He noted that Chinese entrepreneurs are already showing interest in collaborating with Odesa.

The mayor presented the city’s plans to attract investments and expand international ties, recalling that the visit to China initiated the establishment of industrial parks in Odesa.

«The presence of the Chinese Ambassador in Odesa is a strong signal of readiness for constructive dialogue and joint development,» noted Trukhanov.

The mayor also confirmed the city’s readiness for active cooperation and thanked the Chinese people for their consistent stance on peace, recognition of borders, and Ukraine's independence.
