Arrest of a Drug Dealer in Odesa District

Officers from the Odesa District Police Department No. 2 discovered that a 41-year-old resident of the Usatove community was engaged in illegal activities. At the end of January, law enforcement documented the man's sale of amphetamine, a controlled substance. The suspect was apprehended while selling a package of the 'product' on the street near his home. Investigators seized the psychotropic substance and conducted an express test.

This was reported by the police.

As material evidence, the police also confiscated money obtained from the 'sales', and during a sanctioned search of the residence, another package containing an unknown substance, packaging tools for psychotropics, and other items of interest to the investigation were found. All seized substances were sent for testing.

According to senior investigator Olena Ditsul, the suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and was informed of the suspicion of illegal acquisition, storage for sale, and illegal sale of a psychotropic substance. Under the sanction of Part 1, Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the man faces a penalty of up to eight years in prison. During the investigation, the court chose a preventive measure of detention with the right to bail. The investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the Bilyaivka District Prosecutor's Office, and individuals involved in drug trafficking are being identified.
