Enhancements to Street Lighting in Odessa

The specialists of the Municipal Enterprise «Odesmisksvitlo» are continually engaged in enhancing the street lighting across the city, including parks and public squares, while also addressing emergency situations as they arise.

As part of our planned maintenance, we routinely inspect street lighting components, such as poles, distribution cabinets, and fixtures, to identify any malfunctioning or vandalized elements. Electricians from the enterprise carry out work on rewiring, replacing outdated fixtures with new ones, and trimming trees that may interfere with the electrical networks.

In the first 11 months of 2024, as part of ongoing repairs, 2390 fixtures and 380 brackets were replaced, along with 75003 meters of cable network.

Additionally, workers trimmed 7632 trees that were damaging the electrical lines.

Moreover, the specialists of «Odesmisksvitlo» conducted replacements of street lighting poles.

Often, due to emergencies such as severe weather or traffic accidents, street lighting poles become unusable after their service life ends. Replacing poles is a labor-intensive task that requires special equipment.

Since the beginning of 2024, 64 emergency poles have been replaced, 10 of which were damaged in traffic accidents.

In October of this year, a vandalism incident was recorded on the Health Trail, where unknown individuals damaged the equipment of 10 poles, stealing circuit breakers and cables.
