New Fare Increases for Public Transport in Odesa

Between 2022 and 2024, many cities in Ukraine have seen fare increases for public electric transport despite the ongoing martial law.

The current fare rates in Odesa were set in 2021 by the decision of the Odesa City Council's Executive Committee.

Changes in 2022 impacted service costs significantly due to rising prices for spare parts and materials, necessitating a review of the fare structure for public transport in Odesa.

The municipal enterprise «OMET» has recalculated the fare for public electric transport in line with the established regulations, resulting in a fare of 17.69 UAH for one passenger.

The fare for the city funicular will be 16.93 UAH. The calculations were verified by the Department of Economic Development of the Odesa City Council.

To ensure quality service for public transport, «OMET» will implement a new fare of 15.00 UAH for single journeys.

Current discounts for students and schoolchildren will remain: the fare for schoolchildren will be 2.00 UAH, for students 4.00 UAH, and for the general public 7.00 UAH.

The fare increases are expected to take effect on December 1, 2024.

Additionally, starting December 1, transport providers plan to raise fares to 20 UAH within the city and 40 UAH for journeys beyond the 6th km of the Ovidiopol road.
