Elevator Upgrade Program in Odesa for 2024

For the year 2024, the city program plans to replace 91 elevators, depending on the allocation of funds from the city budget. Funds have already been allocated to repair 44 elevators that have been in service for over 25 years.
Replacing one elevator costs the city budget between 1.5 to 2.3 million UAH depending on the building's height and elevator capacity. The average repair time is up to two months.

According to the Department of Municipal Economy, new elevators have been installed in apartment buildings at the following addresses: Nebesnoi Sotni St., 6, Hlodan Family St. (Ilf and Petrov), 17 and 29, Academician Zabolotny St., 49, Prince Yaroslav the Wise Ave. (Academician Hlushko), 34 and 11, and Lustdorf Road, 164.

Experts state that modern elevators are 40% more energy-efficient. In case of power outages, emergency evacuation of passengers is provided, allowing residents to reach the nearest floor without delays, minimizing the risk of getting stuck in the shaft.

Since 2016, over 1,500 elevators have been replaced in Odesa. Due to the full-scale invasion, the elevator restoration program was temporarily halted, but work is set to resume at the beginning of 2024.

Additional Information
All new elevators are equipped with modern technology: a frequency regulation system that ensures smooth door operations; a movement control system that increases the lifespan of the main winch's motor. This equipment allows for the use of motors with lower power, reducing energy consumption and load on the elevator structure while enhancing user comfort.
The cabins of all upgraded and newly installed elevators are covered with vandal-resistant coatings and equipped with vandal-proof lights and metal buttons. All elevators are fitted with mirrors and handrails.
