Educational Initiatives for the Memory of Holodomor Victims in Odesa

The Odesa Genocide Museum «Territory of Memory» hosted an event for educators dedicated to the Day of Remembrance for Holodomor victims.

Participants discussed the importance of studying the lessons of 20th-century genocides in Ukraine and their relevance in the context of the current Russian-Ukrainian war.

Teachers were introduced to the museum's educational projects and received recommendations on teaching the tragic history of Holodomor, considering the age characteristics of students and the realities of war.

Educators discovered lesser-known aspects of the Holodomor in Odesa through a fact-filled lecture. The presentation showcased all the signs of genocide against the Ukrainian peasantry in 1932-1933 and the Ukrainian national elite.

Additionally, participants explored the museum's exhibition «Territory of Memory», dedicated to the topic of genocides.
