Innovative Cancer Detection Methods in Odesa

Last year, medical facilities in Odesa conducted over 300 bronchoscopy procedures. This enabled timely detection of 45 suspected cases of cancer, allowing patients to be referred for further consultations and treatment.

Bronchoscopy is a procedure that examines the trachea and bronchi using an endoscope, helping to identify respiratory organ cancers at early stages. It is recommended that individuals over 50 undergo this procedure routinely, even in the absence of symptoms.

This procedure is included in the state medical guarantee program and is performed free of charge with a referral from a family or treating doctor, especially for patients receiving inpatient treatment.

Modern bronchoscopy equipment has been purchased for Odesa's medical institutions with city budget funds. Patients can undergo bronchoscopy free of charge by making an appointment at the following addresses:
- Consultative and Diagnostic Center No. 6 - Dobrovoltsiv St. (Marshal Hovorov), 26a;
- City Clinical Hospital No. 1 - Myasoyedovska St., 32;
- City Clinical Hospital No. 10 - Oleksiy Vadaturskyi St. (Marshal Malynovskyi), 61;
- City Clinical Hospital No. 11 - Vitalii Nesterenko St. (Academician Vorobiyov), 5.

For children, bronchoscopy is performed at the Children's City Clinical Hospital No. 3, Akademika Zabolotnoho St., 26a.
