New Art Exhibition by Gennady Kim: Awakening Colors

“Awakening Colors”, art exhibition and spring inspiration: a new exhibition by Gennady Kim will take place at the Bleshchunov House.

At this exhibition, artist, theologian, and educator Gennady Kim will showcase new works created over the past two years. During this time, he has also developed his own art therapy program and will hold creative sessions for anyone interested in exploring their inner state through color.

Gennady Kim works in the technique of pointillism (from French point - dot) – a style characterized by the optical mixing of color, allowing for the creation of complex color effects that are impossible to achieve through mechanical mixing of paints.

Maria Apryatova, the head of exhibitions at the Bleshchunov Museum, notes that Kim masters this technique brilliantly: “The artist conveys the finest nuances of color relationships, observable only in nature, and he can also capture the shades of sacred space, making him a conduit to the invisible world.”

In his new compositions, the artist uses acrylic paint for the first time, which makes the works appear more contrasting. The main idea of his painting is to convey the invisible world through visible means of visual art.

“This approach allows us to feel thoughts and ideas through color and composition. After all, a painting is a reflection of the unknown – an expression of what is difficult to explain with words through visible images. These principles have become the foundation for art therapy, which enables us to feel and address spiritual and emotional issues of our inner world through color,” says Gennady Kim.

The exhibition will be held at the Odesa Museum of Personal Collections named after O.V. Bleshchunov from March 20 to April 15, 2025.

Visiting hours: Thursday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
