Advancement in Ukraine's Maritime Fleet

This is reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

It is noted that the new high-speed and economical boat will significantly reduce fuel expenses and resolve issues regarding the timely delivery of maritime pilots to ships.

“The launch of the new pilot boat is another significant step in strengthening our fleet and enhancing the efficiency of our ports,” said AMPU head Oleksandr Semyrha.

The boat is named after Serhiy Cheberyakov, an experienced pilot who dedicated over 18 years to the maritime profession and trained multiple generations of specialists. Tragically, Serhiy Cheberyakov lost his life in 2023 while attempting to escape from the occupied territories of Kherson region.

In December 2024, the pilot boat “Bolotyn” began operations on the Danube, built with the support of the USAID program, while the construction of a third boat continues in Izmir, Turkey.
