On the evening of Saturday, April 12, 2025, a tragic fire broke out in the Peresyp district of Odessa, leading to the death of an elderly woman.

According to the regional State Emergency Service, the fire originated from the doors and parquet flooring in an apartment on Prince Volodymyr the Great Avenue.

Firefighters discovered the body of the apartment's owner, born in 1940.

The cause of the fire and damages are currently under investigation.

In total, the State Emergency Service reported that there were 19 fires recorded in the Odessa region over the past day, including five in Odessa and 14 across the region.
