Demolition of Damaged Buildings in Odesa
Odesa begins the demolition of residential buildings affected by Russian strikes. Authorities offer compensation to homeowners.
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov, held a meeting focused on enhancing the energy independence of the local community.
Participants visited apartment buildings equipped with rooftop solar power systems.
Trukhanov highlighted the effectiveness of these stations, which are already supplying electricity to residents.
He also emphasized the importance of reducing reliance on external networks – during outages, residents will always have light, and elevators, heating, and pumps will function thanks to battery backup systems.
Moreover, every homeowners' association can receive partial compensation for electricity costs for each apartment.
Currently, four homeowners' associations have joined the City Program for partial compensation of expenses related to energy efficiency and independence, covering more than 3,280 residents.
The expected reduction in electricity consumption in these buildings is 30%, significantly lowering family expenses and ensuring stable energy supply even during blackouts.
The mayor also stressed the importance of continuing efforts towards the city's energy independence. Homeowners' associations looking to switch to solar energy can utilize support programs that offer compensation ranging from 70% to 100% of equipment costs.
Compensation is provided by the state Energy Efficiency Fund as part of the City Support Programs for homeowners' associations.
