New Inclusive Beach Opens in Odesa: Accessibility and Quality

Odesa has unveiled a new inclusive beach at the 11th station of the Great Fountain, which meets international standards for accessibility, safety, and ecology.

The grand opening of the renovated municipal beach, which has received the «AES Standard» certificate (a document confirming the beach's compliance with international quality standards), took place on July 1.

The reconstructed beach serves as a model of inclusive infrastructure. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of local authorities, expert groups, and builders, the project was completed in a short timeframe.

The inclusive beach features special ramps, modern toilets, and shower cabins designed for people with disabilities. There is also a medical station and shelter. Additionally, the beach offers convenient routes and accessible infrastructure elements, verified by experts and users after the renovation.

Military veterans, people with disabilities, families with children, and elderly individuals attended the beach opening.

«Today, residents can see that the updated beach has been created with care and concern for everyone. We continue to work systematically on improving accessibility, developing rehabilitation services, and creating barrier-free environments, including along the Odesa coastline,» said Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.

Recently, an inclusive multisport playground was also opened at the «Dolphin» beach.
