A memorial plaque has been ceremoniously installed at the Odesa Academic Ukrainian Musical and Dramatic Theater named after Vasyl Vasylko, honoring the distinguished actor and theatrical figure Heinrich Romanovych Ostashevsky.

His life represents a profound dedication to art, truth, and humanity. For over 45 years, he served the theater, and in total, he devoted more than 60 years to acting, which became his way of bringing light through the darkness.

Heinrich Ostashevsky is recognized as a Righteous Among the Nations. In times when evil demanded silence, he chose the path of action. By sheltering a Jewish family, he not only saved lives but also defended the essence of humanity.

This memorial plaque serves as a reminder to remember, act with dignity, and continue the work of those who did good in the darkest moments of history.

Representatives of the Jewish community, cultural figures, and local authorities attended the unveiling of the plaque.
