A new version of the tram has been introduced in Odesa, featuring a special lift for individuals with disabilities.
The "Odesacityelectrotrans" company has completed the modernization of another «Tatra» tram car, which will soon hit the city routes.
The main feature of this tram is the development by Odesa engineers, enabling the installation of a modern lift for passengers with reduced mobility. These lifts were showcased to the Odesa delegation during the international transport exhibition InnoTrans - 2024 in Berlin. The mayor of Odesa noted that this is an example of successful international cooperation.
The design has passed all necessary technical tests and received positive feedback from the ambassadors of the «Barrier-Free Movement» initiative. Currently, the company has submitted documents for patenting this development.
«We are not just updating transport — we are creating comfort and accessibility for every resident. Such projects have become the norm for Odesa, but I know the colossal effort behind every outcome,» said the mayor of Odesa.
The upgraded tram is ready to go into service, and specialists are working on further enhancements.
