Naftogaz has finalized a historic agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for a gas procurement deal worth €500 million.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko via her Telegram channel.

“This agreement marks a significant milestone for Ukraine, being the largest project undertaken by the bank in our nation,” she stated.

Svyrydenko added that for the first time, this loan is backed by the EU guarantee, without any state guarantee from Ukraine.

“This will enable Ukraine to better prepare for the heating season, ensuring that homes are warm and lit even during the toughest winter days. I thank the EBRD and the EU for their support and commend the government and Naftogaz team for their professionalism,” the Prime Minister noted.
