Beach Inspection in Odesa: New Initiatives
Overview of the inspection of leased beaches in Odesa and initiatives to improve accessibility for everyone.
In Ukraine, medical assistance for stroke patients is provided free of charge under the state medical guarantee program.
Patients transported by emergency medical teams, transferred from other healthcare institutions, or those who self-refer in critical condition receive free inpatient treatment.
In Odesa, three multidisciplinary hospitals are contracted with the National Health Service to provide inpatient care for stroke patients: City Clinical Hospitals No. 1, No. 10, and No. 11.
Stroke patients undergo an initial examination by a neurologist or neurosurgeon, along with neuroimaging conducted within 60 minutes of arrival.
The hospitals in Odesa are equipped with advanced CT scanners and angiography machines for effective diagnosis.
The guaranteed package of free medical services includes health monitoring, anesthetic support, thrombolytic therapy for ischemic stroke, and around-the-clock laboratory tests.
Rehabilitation for stroke patients begins as early as possible to maximize treatment effectiveness. Within the first 72 hours, consultations with a speech therapist and psychologist are provided.
Rehabilitation services are available at Clinical Hospitals No. 1, No. 10, No. 11, and Hospital No. 8.

The success of stroke treatment largely depends on how quickly a patient receives specialized medical assistance. Recognizing stroke symptoms can be remembered with the acronym BRAIN:
- Balance: loss of balance or coordination;
- Reaction: sudden change in facial expression or smile;
- Aches: severe headache like a sudden blow;
- Eyes: sudden vision problems;
- Numbness: sudden weakness or numbness, often on one side.
