Free Rehabilitation for Children Under Three

Free rehabilitation services for children under three years old who were born with complications are available for families of displaced persons.

Parents with the status of internally displaced persons can choose from 128 specialized hospitals contracted with the NHIF to receive rehabilitation care.

Free Services for Children from Internally Displaced Families

The package “Medical Rehabilitation for Infants Born Prematurely and/or Sick in the First Three Years of Life” includes the following free services:

  • Rehabilitation services regardless of the child's residence;
  • Early intervention services at their location and/or via telecommunications;
  • Assessment of child development across five key areas;
  • Screening for signs of autism spectrum disorder;
  • Consultations with other specialists;
  • Referrals to other medical institutions for specialized assistance;
  • Selection and adaptation of special equipment;
  • Assessment of the child's condition and adjustment of the rehabilitation plan.

Parents can receive free psychological support and training on child care and development.

How to Access Rehabilitation for Children Under Three

Parents or caregivers need to:

  • Obtain an electronic referral for rehabilitation from their family or treating physician;
  • Contact any medical facility that has a contract for the rehabilitation package. A referral is not needed for transfers between hospitals.
