Legendary composer Igor Poklad has passed away at the age of 84.

This heartbreaking news was shared by his wife, Svitlana Poklad, on Facebook.

"This is it… I loved, I love, and I will always love… Please pray for Igor Dmytrovych… For his immortal soul…" - she wrote.

Igor Poklad was a Ukrainian composer and opera master, a Hero of Ukraine, a recipient of the Shevchenko Prize, an Honored Artist of Ukraine, a People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR and of Ukraine, and a member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine.

His well-known songs include "Beloved," "Two Wings," "Magic Violin," "Wild Goose," and many others.

In August 2024, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded Igor Poklad with the title of "National Legend of Ukraine."
