Changes in Odesa's Electric Transport on November 26
Updates on the operation of electric transport in Odesa, including changes in tram routes and the launch of a social bus route.
A distressing event occurred in Odesa, where a 72-year-old school employee and mother of a fallen soldier was attacked during a confrontation with a representative of a local organization. She sought medical assistance from the company "Intosana" but instead received serious injuries. Medical professionals are concerned about the potential health risks due to stress, as she has already suffered a stroke following her son's death.
Elena Buinevich, the director of the Department of Education and Science of Odesa City Council, reported on the incident.
The woman stated that individuals claiming to be employees of an organization linked to officials were harassing the 72-year-old mother of a deceased soldier who works at a school in Odesa.
"Recently, she approached the office of this organization where she was promised a medical treatment agreement with the company "Intosana". According to her, an office worker refused to let her into the empty office, and after a verbal argument, struck her in the chest. The woman fell, had her chest pinned down, a hood pulled over her head, and was hit on the head.
The assailant fled the scene as quickly as her age allowed. She returned to work but felt unwell. Emergency services were called, and the medical personnel informed law enforcement of the situation," Buinevich said.
The official added that the attacker was trying to obtain the victim's phone number and that the incident was being framed in a way that suggested the victim had assaulted the office worker.
"The narrative is being twisted to imply that a 72-year-old woman, who suffered a stroke after losing her son, attacked the office representative. Did she leap up and strike? Have you seen her? She weighs barely 50 kg and can hardly breathe! How could she possibly strike a woman trained in martial arts?", the statement reads.
Additionally, Elena Buinevich mentioned that she has received threats on social media demanding punishment for the school employee accused of violence. The victim is also being harassed with phone calls aimed at demoralizing her.
"I believe that law enforcement will thoroughly investigate all aspects of this case. I am not writing this to cast blame. I trust my colleague, and logic, physics, and anatomy are on her side. But I am not asserting who is guilty; I am simply relaying her words.
Right now, I am just asking! The victim is on the brink of a second stroke; she almost lost consciousness in my presence twice today. Let her have some peace. She is not alone. She lives in Odesa and is part of our 17,000-strong family. I looked at her as if it were my own mother being pressed down by someone," the official concluded.
