Tragic Incident: Child Dies in Hospital

On February 12, a child was brought to the local hospital's intensive care unit, where they sadly passed away without regaining consciousness.

This information was reported by the police.

Preliminary investigations revealed that in the morning, a 36-year-old mother left her child with three older siblings aged 15, 14, and 11 while she went to work. When the boy woke up, he felt unwell, prompting the older siblings to notify their mother by phone. She called for an ambulance, but unfortunately, the child could not be saved.

The mother stated that in December, her son had sustained serious injuries after falling off a table and was admitted to the Odessa Regional Children's Hospital with multiple bruises and a hemorrhage. He was discharged for outpatient care, but no report was made to the police regarding this incident. Until now, the family had not been under the radar of law enforcement or social services.

Investigators from the Bolgrad District Police Department have opened a case under paragraph 2 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, sending the child's body for forensic examination to determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing, and all circumstances surrounding the tragic event are being established.
