Arrest of a Man in Odesa for Illegal Emigration Assistance

A man was arrested in Odesa, allegedly helping military conscripts prepare documents for illegal emigration for $15,000.

This was reported by the Odesa police on February 13.

According to the investigation, a 37-year-old man promised his acquaintance a six-month deferment from military service due to health issues, allowing him to leave the country.

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense in the Southern Region added that fake information was to be entered into the systems "Reserve+" and "Oberih". This service cost $15,000.

The Odesan was apprehended while receiving the funds. Investigators seized the specified money, a mobile phone, a car, and documents. He was charged under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of up to nine years in prison, along with a prohibition on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.

The court has chosen a preventive measure of detention for the suspect with the right to post a bail of UAH 908,400. As part of the proceedings, the police will identify individuals who used the services of the arrested person.
