Drone Attack on Odesa: Impact and Response
Odesa has experienced a new drone strike resulting in damage and casualties.
The Odesa Prosecutor's Office has prepared charges against a former city council member who is working for an aggressive state.
He is accused of treason, promoting military actions, justifying the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, particularly through media channels (Part 2 of Article 111, Article 436, Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in 2014 the former deputy left for Russia, where he actively harmed Ukraine's sovereignty.
On February 24, 2022, on the day of the full-scale invasion, the suspect joined Russian troops in the temporarily occupied territories of Kyiv region. He assisted the enemy and disseminated Kremlin narratives among locals.
Using his Telegram channel, he called on Ukrainian soldiers to lay down their arms and not resist, justifying Russia's actions and spreading disinformation.
The suspect also gave an interview to a well-known Russian blogger, where he openly admitted his collaboration with the occupiers and claimed that Ukraine supposedly had no chance of victory.
He is currently wanted.
The investigation is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
