Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense, a citizen has been charged with committing a terrorist act (Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, a resident of Odesa received an offer via Telegram at the beginning of February to prepare a terrorist act in Odesa using explosives. The organizer selected the location, time, and targets to be destroyed. After the crime, the suspect was promised a payment of 3000 USD.

Following the organizer's instructions, he manufactured an explosive device and arrived at the designated location – a parking lot across from an administrative building, where the organizer's specified vehicle was located. To document the act, the suspect set up a smartphone nearby that recorded everything on video, and then left the scene. On the same day, the vehicle was detonated remotely. As a result, a passerby sustained injuries, and several parked cars and the building's facade were damaged.

Later that evening, law enforcement officers arrested the suspect under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. A motion for preventive measures is being prepared.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigative department of the SBU in the Odesa region, with operational support from the SBU personnel in the Odesa region, the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine in Odesa, and the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
