Crackdown on Illegal Gambling in Odesa

Under the supervision of prosecutors from the Odesa regional prosecutor's office, a series of raids were carried out at illegal gambling establishments, resulting in the seizure of equipment valued at over 54 million UAH.

According to the investigation, a network of illegal gaming venues operated in Odesa for an extended period without registering as a legal entity or obtaining necessary licenses, thus avoiding tax payments.

The gambling halls were located in non-residential premises and operated discreetly without any signage or advertising. Players were invited only by prior arrangement, and outsiders could enter only through recommendations from regular clients.

During the authorized searches, law enforcement discovered and seized over 3,000 units of computer equipment, including laptops, monitors, CPUs, servers, mobile phones, handwritten notes, cash, and bank cards.

A storage facility was also found, which was used for keeping technical devices and furniture intended for setting up new gaming halls.

Currently, efforts are underway to identify all individuals involved in the organization and operation of illegal activities.

The preliminary investigation is being conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Odesa region.
