Fortunately, no one was harmed due to the antics of the boys. Law enforcement conducted preventive measures with the children and filed administrative protocols against their parents, who now face fines.
Recently, during internet monitoring, police discovered a video in a messaging group showing four teenagers mixing household chemicals in a bottle and throwing it in the stairwell, causing an explosion.
After registering the incident, juvenile inspectors from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district police department identified and located the boys.
It was determined that the 12-year-old local friends had replicated an experiment they saw on social media for fun.
"These families had not previously come to the attention of law enforcement. We warned the youths about the inadmissibility of such antics and reminded the parents of their duty to supervise their sons and monitor where, with whom, and how they spend their free time. We filed protocols against the adults under part 1 of Article 184 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses, which qualifies as parental neglect in ensuring necessary living conditions, education, and upbringing for minors. This offense is punishable by a fine of up to 1,700 UAH. The administrative materials have been sent to court," commented Pavlo Bobchynskyi, head of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district police department.
Police urge parents to pay more attention to their children, explaining the dangers posed by household chemicals and other substances that can explode, cause burns, and result in other bodily injuries, as well as the consequences of illegal actions.
