A 41-year-old woman has been charged. She faces penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment, along with losing the right to hold certain positions.
The illegal actions of the individual were uncovered by investigators from the Odessa region's police department in collaboration with the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption.
The investigation revealed that the woman, serving as the head of one of the departments of the Odessa City Council, intentionally provided false information in her annual declarations for 2022 and 2023. Specifically, she failed to disclose ownership of eight land plots, two vehicles, corporate rights in three enterprises, over two million hryvnias in income, and two apartments belonging to her and her son.
The total value of the hidden assets amounts to 9 million 495 thousand 215 hryvnias.
At the beginning of this year, the official resigned from her position. Currently, investigators have informed her of the suspicion of deliberately submitting false information in the declaration of a person authorized to perform local government functions, as stipulated by the Law of Ukraine on Prevention of Corruption, if such information differs from the accurate data by an amount ranging from 500 to 2000 living minimums. According to the sanction of part 1 of article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the woman faces fines or imprisonment, along with the prohibition to hold certain positions for up to three years.
