Celebration of Youth Talent in Odesa
A gala concert took place in Odesa to honor the best performers of the children's talent festival.
A troubling incident occurred recently in a school located in the Podilskyi district of Odesa.
While responding to reports of an explosion involving an unknown object, police discovered that a nine-year-old girl had brought a training grenade to school to show off to her friends. During playtime, a boy accidentally pulled the pin, causing the grenade to explode. The boy sustained minor scratches but did not require medical attention. No one else was harmed.
Authorities learned that the grenade had been given to the girl by a relative, and her parents failed to monitor her actions regarding bringing a dangerous item to school. The girl's mother is facing administrative charges under Article 184 (failure to fulfill parental duties regarding child upbringing) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. This violation can lead to a warning or a fine of up to 1700 UAH.
Police are urging adults not to endanger children with their irresponsible actions. Parents are advised to keep a close eye on their children, monitoring where, how, and with whom they spend their free time, as well as to educate them about the dangers posed by unknown objects that may conceal explosive materials.
