Tourism Accessibility Conference Held in Odesa

On December 5, 2024, a conference titled «Tourism Accessibility in Ukraine» took place in Odesa.

The goal of the event was to unite efforts of the city authorities and businesses to enhance accessibility in the tourism sector.

This pressing issue has been identified by the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine as a key focus for 2024.

Despite the challenges of wartime, Odesa continues to welcome both domestic and international tourists, making it crucial to address the accessibility of infrastructure.

The conference gathered individuals with disabilities, government representatives, and business leaders to discuss the accessibility of cultural sites and hospitality services. Medical tourism was also a topic of discussion.

«We are creating conditions where every resident and guest can move freely, access necessary services, and participate in social life. Hotels, restaurants, museums, and transport must be accommodating for people with disabilities,» emphasized Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.

Additionally, participants discussed the current state of affairs, future plans, grant programs, and the involvement of businesses in developing an inclusive environment in Odesa.
