New Educational Opportunities in Southern Ukraine

An important event has taken place in southern Ukraine: the Association of Innovative and Digital Education (AIDE) in partnership with UNICEF has launched 46 digital educational centers, of which 19 have been established in the Odesa region with the support of the Odesa regional administration.

The primary goal of the Digital Educational Centers is to ensure equal access to quality education for students who have lost the opportunity to learn traditionally due to war or other circumstances.

These centers help students catch up on their educational losses, provide psychosocial support, and offer lessons for successful living using modern digital tools.

Today, new centers have been opened in the Mayaki community at the local lyceum and in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi at Gymnasium No. 2.

Among the attendees at the opening ceremony were representatives of the Odesa regional administration, including Deputy Head Anton Shalyhaylo, Director of the Department of Education and Science Oleksandr Lonchak, and coordinators of UNICEF's educational projects.

At DLС No. 25 (village of Mayaki), guests were introduced to the technical and methodological content of the center, discussed its future development, and attended a class with eleventh graders using artificial intelligence to address gaps in their mathematics knowledge.

At DLС No. 17, the center’s coordinators introduced guests to all the services available to teachers and students for educational and general development purposes.

During the opening, students showcased their work on quizzes and played "Minecraft Education," which helps them learn how to navigate real-life situations.

"We are committed to enhancing educational opportunities for youth. Recently, we have significantly improved students' access to in-person education by creating safe and comfortable conditions. Establishing such Digital Educational Centers for students is part of this effort, and we are grateful to our partners – UNICEF and the Association of Innovative and Digital Education," said Anton Shalyhaylo.
