On April 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky handed over to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa a list of 400 Ukrainian children abducted by Russia from temporarily occupied territories.

Direct quote: "These children are in Russia against their will. Unfortunately, due to the war, we face this horrific issue. The Russians have kidnapped tens of thousands of children from the occupied territories of Ukraine.

We must bring them all back. Just like the thousands of prisoners of war and civilians who have been held in Russian jails under inhumane conditions for years. South Africa is a co-leader in the coalition for the return of Ukrainian children. I sincerely hope President Ramaphosa will assist us in this matter".
