Celebrating Builders in Odesa: New Horizons Amidst Challenges

On the eve of Builders' Day, Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov addressed the city's builders.

«On this significant day, please accept my warmest wishes and gratitude for your dedicated work. In these challenging times, where destruction from Russian attacks outweighs new constructions, your efforts are invaluable. Odesa has endured 138 enemy attacks, with 38 occurring this year alone. As a result of these strikes, 3,320 facilities have been damaged, and 131 have been destroyed. The residential infrastructure has suffered the most: 1,109 apartment buildings and 689 private homes. But thanks to your commitment, Odesa remains alive, continues to develop, and holds onto hope for a better future. Since the beginning of the war, thousands of square meters of new housing have been commissioned. Odesa has always been a city of craftsmen, and today we take particular pride in you, those who fearlessly confront difficulties and build the future,» stated Gennadiy Trukhanov.

On this professional holiday, the mayor awarded honorary distinctions to representatives of the city's construction industry.

He particularly recognized the work of specialists from the Odesa State Academy of Construction and Architecture, who actively participate in assessing damaged objects, including architectural monuments in the UNESCO zone.

The rector of the academy, Anatoliy Kovrov, received the Honorary Distinction of the Odesa Mayor for his significant contribution to the rescue and restoration of buildings after Russian attacks.

Additionally, honorary city awards were presented to construction workers who diligently strive to restore the damaged and make Odesa even better.
