Community Initiatives Week: A Path to Peace

From September 15 to 21, Ukraine hosted the III Community Initiatives Week, aimed at fostering active citizen engagement in building an open society.

Within the framework of this week and the campaign "Barrier-Free is When You Can," an event titled "Dialogue for Peace" took place in Odesa.

This occasion, dedicated to the International Day of Peace, brought together youth, art school teachers, parents, and activists.

Participants explored what peace means to them and how each individual can help maintain it.

Throughout the event, a safe space was created for sharing thoughts, acceptance, and active listening, allowing everyone to be heard.

This event was part of the project "Peace, Love, Unity: Creating Together," which emphasizes mutual respect and cultural equality, initiated by Lyudmyla Mazur, a teacher at Odesa Arts School.

The event "Dialogue for Peace" was implemented with the support of the EU as part of the civil society development program. The methodology has been tested in Ukraine and other European countries.
