Young Shooters from Odesa Shine at National Championship

The open national championship of Ukraine for young shooters born in 2007 and younger came to a close in Vinnytsia. Over 200 young athletes from 13 regions and Kyiv competed for medals in this youth event.

The Odesa team consisted of athletes from the city's Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 3 and the regional shooting sports school.

In the prone position with a small-caliber rifle at 50 meters, Ilya Ananiev (CYS No. 3) earned the title of national champion, while his brother Danilo Ananiev (CYS No. 3) secured third place. Together with Yegor Mozusenko, a member of the regional shooting sports school, they also became champions in the team event.

In the three-position small-caliber rifle competition, the Odesa team, including Ilya Ananiev, Ilya Kosteva (CYS No. 3), and Yegor Mozusenko (regional shooting sports school), clinched the championship title again.

In the girls' prone position event at 50 meters, the Odesa team, featuring Ksenia Gerasimova (CYS No. 3), Kateryna Nikonенко, and Vitalina Martyniuk (regional shooting sports school), won silver medals.

The athletes were trained by coaches Olga Chikalova (CYS No. 3) and Svitlana Skachko (regional shooting sports school).
