The Summer Universiade in Germany has concluded, culminating in a spectacular closing ceremony.

According to reports 

On the final day of competition, the Ukrainian team secured another medal — a bronze. This honor was achieved by Mykola Rushchak from Sumy in the 20 km race walking event.

Ukraine ranked 14th in the overall medal standings, earning a total of 12 medals: 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze.

Mykola Rushchak expressed his emotions about his greatest career achievement: «This is the highest international medal I have — my first. I was just two seconds away from second place.»

Viktoriya Baranivska, who competed in the triple jump final, noted: «The atmosphere here is incredible, the arena and organization are top-notch. With each passing day, you start to love these competitions more and feel energized by them.»

Danilo Binder celebrated his international debut in rowing at the Universiade: «This was my first race at an international level on water, so we will try to prepare better for the next race.»

For two weeks, student-athletes from 55 countries competed for awards at the 2025 Universiade. The top three teams were Japan, China, and the USA.
