On Saturday, April 12, a 26-year-old pilot, Pavlo Ivanov, lost his life while performing a mission on an F-16 aircraft.

The circumstances of the tragedy are currently being investigated by an interagency commission that has already begun its work.

The ministry has not disclosed details regarding the pilot's death.

Update: The initial report mistakenly stated that Ivanov was 21 years old. The text has since been corrected to 26.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the pilot's death.
