President Volodymyr Zelensky has posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to the fallen F-16 pilot, Pavlo Ivanov.

Quote: "For personal courage and heroism shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree:

To confer the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the "Gold Star" to Pavlo Ivanov – Major (posthumously)".

Background: On Saturday, April 12, 26-year-old pilot Pavlo Ivanov was killed while performing a combat mission on an F-16.

Zelensky noted that he had received reports from military officials regarding this combat situation, and all circumstances of the event are being clarified.
