Details: In his address, the president pointed out that Ukraine never desired this war and is ready to work with all partners to establish peace and guarantee security. Meanwhile, Russia continues to reject such initiatives and manipulates the international community, attempting to deceive, particularly the United States.

According to the president, the ceasefire should not be temporary or convenient for Russia, but should be unconditional and immediate, lasting at least 30 days.

Direct quote: "Now there is yet another attempt at manipulation: everyone is supposed to wait until May 8 to then cease fire, to provide Putin with peace during the parade."

We value human lives, not parades. That is why we believe – and the world believes – that there is no reason to wait until May 8. The fire must be stopped not for just a few days, only to resume killing later. An immediate, complete, and unconditional ceasefire for at least 30 days is the foundation for real diplomacy."
